Look at some ads found in your local classified newspaper ads and used-car books. Make note of those which do the best job in attracting and holding your attention. See if they don't reflect some of the suggestions below.

Sell the assets
Go back to your evaluation assessment and look at those items that you believe are your car's strongest assets. These are the things you want to call out in your ad.

One word of caution: While all these are "selling words," they must relate to the facts. If you like the idea of dealing with hostile buyers, just make claims about your car that aren't true. To reiterate: The key is to look for the assets and make those assets the core of your ad.

You'll want to use terms like:

Mint condition
Excellent pickup
Low mileage
One owner
Loaded with options
Very clean
Great ride
Low maintenance
Rated - by (name of consumer book)
Excellent fuel economy
Like new
Meticulously cared for
All service records Professional mechanic inspection report available.
And even: Great source of spare parts
