Before Closing the Deal
Taking Delivery What to Check
Before you sit down to complete the paperwork, it's a good
idea to take a walk around the car. Check to see if there
any new dents or dings. Then take the car out for one last
test drive. Make sure that nothing has happened since you
last saw it.
Open the hood and check to be sure that no oil leaks have
developed. If repairs or maintenance were to be performed,
ask for proof that it was done as agreed
Checking
for the Proper Title
Always be sure that the seller has the title. Ask to see it
and compare the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the
title to the one on the car. In recent years the VIN numbers
have been placed so that you can read them by looking through
the windshield on the driver's side. If the numbers don't
match, say good-bye.

on the title
